Competing in the Doggett's Coat and Badge Race 15th July 2010

In the Photographs above,  Dean is seen approaching the climax of the race at Chelsea Bridge having fought valiantly to finish second to a very strong competitor from Tideway Scullers. Dean was however, a good distance ahead of the two remaining competitors. On a windy day, the river from the start at London Bridge was very choppy and waterman's skills of the highest level were required to complete the course.  A whole boatload of friends, family and supporters were on board the Pride of London to cheer Dean on his way and gave him a rousing welcome when he joined them after the race. Dean thanked Medway Towns and Gravesend Rowing Clubs for the support he received leading up to the event and paid special tribute to the coaching afforded him by Brian Robinson.
