Medway Head After nearly fifty years absence, the Medway Head will make a welcome return to Rochester. The event which was Instituted by Medway Rowing Club in 1936 was originally contested on a course from Upnor Castle to Medway's raft off Rochester Pier. In the early sixties, MTRC took the event to Maidstone where it later moved into the hands of the Maidstone Rowing Committee. It became successful and grew into the three division event of recent years. In 2009 it was decided to disband the Medway Head at Maidstone and bring it home to Rochester where it will now be held over our established head course from the Boathouse to Wouldham Church.
