Results and Photographs Universities at Medway Boat Race & Medway Towns Rowing Club Mini Head 3rd May 2008
Universities at Medway Boat Race Months of training came to a conclusion on Saturday 3rd May when the University of Kent and the University of Greenwich went head to head on a course on the River Medway from Cuxton to Rochester. Honours were shared in the two races in fours and eights. The training was undertaken by coaches from Medway Towns Rowing Club and students were taken from novice level to a standard whereby good quality racing was the outcome. Medway Towns Rowing Club Mini Head As a warm up to the Universities race, Medway Towns Rowing Club put on a Mini Head Race. Crews were invited from near neighbours at Maidstone, Gravesend, Erith and Globe. Maidstone Invicta Rowing Club entered two eights, one of which put up the fastest time of the day but Medway's men's Quad showed their strength by beating all other crews by a significant margin.
