University of Greenwich Ladies beat University of Kent

For the first half of the contest  the race was very close with both crews head to head and as rounded the end of Borstal Marina and came into view of the spectators at the boathouse they were still tied together.  It was at this point when the staying power of the Greenwich crew proved stronger and they pulled away to a clear lead as they passed the boathouse.  Greenwich pressed their advantage and went on to complete the 2.6 kilometre course in a time of 15 min 54 sec.  Kent never gave up the fight and put on a good show to finish in 16min 16 sec.

The crews were still very close as they approached the Boathouse.
