Building the Boathouse

The photograph above was taken 23rd May 2008

The Boathouse was designed by a member of the Club who led the team that oversaw the erection of the building. A team led by Brian Dees then oversaw the internal arrangements, entrance ramps and balcony. We now have a boathouse of which we are justly proud and is the envy of many Clubs.  See below for a blow by blow account of the story behind building the Boathouse.

The Early Construction

The Programme of work was to make a concrete base, erect a steel frame, build retaining walls and floors and finally add the roof and clad the sides.

The Boathouse, still someway from completion in this photograph, but its potential is clear to see.
