2011 World Rowing Masters Regatta - Poznan

Liz McVeigh entered three events in composite boats at the World Rowing Masters Regatta held at Poznan in Poland. She competed in crews that very commendably finished 3rd in the Vet F Coxed Fours and 2nd in the same category Coxless Fours, but there are no medals for 2nd or 3rd places in Masters Rowing. Liz however struck gold in the in the Vet F category Eights. Rowing with athletes from Barns Bridge Rowing Club, Thames Rowing Club, Fredensborg (Denmark), Maidenhead Rowing Club, Durham Amateur Rowing Club and Liz from Medway Towns, made a crew which maintained her impeccable record in competition. During a rowing career that took Liz to the very top and compete at the Moscow Olympics, she has won a plethora of races. There is now a rumour that Poznan might have been her last race but commented "I would not advertise it being my last race - you never know!"
